New Painting by Micah

Last night I finally finished up this big watercolor painting I'd been working on. Always a relief with large-scale watercolors to finish 'em and get 'em in a frame before I can spill something on it, someone rests their sandwich on it's luscious flat surface, my dog misreads her spatial perceptions and sleeps on it, etc.

This is actually a study for a piece in progress on my buddy, Trevor. After I started putting the original drawings together for his tattoo, I realized I could probably just rearrange it a bit, have a nice composition for a big painting, and be able to work out all the color theory and special effects in advance. You can check out the tattoo based on this painting under my portfolio page.

New Work by Natan

Last week, Natan got the chance to finish up this half sleeve of imagery relating to the beast of revelation. This piece features an interesting balance of both illustrative and geometric techniques and gave Natan the opportunity to play around with a diverse and out of the ordinary subject matter.

Yesterday, Natan Alexander gave a thorough and informative guided tour through the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston's “Under the Skin: Tattoos in Japanese Prints” exhibition. Halloween in Salem!

Did you know that Halloween in Salem, for all intents and purposes, spans the entire month of October? Beginning yesterday, we've witnessed the arrival of swarms and legions of halloween-loving people arrive into town. Along with the masses comes all of the annual local performers, entertainers, and vendors who line the streets in anticipation of the crowds.

If you're planning on coming into town to check out what all the hub-bubs about, make sure to stop on by our shop, take a look around, and get some tattoos! Keep your eyeballs peeled in the next couple of weeks as we may feature some custom halloween flash up for grabs and will

Thanks for Coming to the 2010 Boston Tattoo Convention!

Last weekend we all packed up our kits, locked the doors, changed the voicemails, and headed down to the 2010 Boston Tattoo Convention. Produced by Witch City Ink and Lightwave Tattoos owner/artist, Natan Alexander, and managed by Witch City Ink apprentice, Micah R. O. Litant, this year's show marked our 9th consecutive convention and our first major move as we relocated up to the Back Bay Sheraton Hotel and expanded to a full four days.

Each year, we welcome hundreds of artists from around the country and world, a wide array of vendors, performers, entertainers, and the general public to join us for a celebration and exhibition of the art-form of tattooing. With li

ve tattooing (including traditional tebori hand-poke methods by Horimyo), shopping, burlesque performers, mixed martial arts demonstrations, our annual art gallery, and daily tattoo contests, we had a packed schedule for the entirety of the Labor Day weekend.

Stay tuned as we post all of our coverage from the show on our website, our facebook, twitter, and myspace and join us next year over Labor Day Weekend 2011, back at the Sheraton Hotel, for our 10th Annual Boston Tattoo Convention!
