Tis The Season…

k-witch-hatNo, not THAT season... its finally Fall and the Halloween season officially kicks off next weekend!  One of the reasons we love being in Salem, MA is this amazing time of year, filled with witches and bats and so much more.  We love to see our yearly halloween clientele, and love to meet new halloween-loving folks visiting the Witch City! We do, however, want to remind everyone that, if you have an appointment with one of our artists, please be sure to give yourself PLENTY oscreen-shot-2016-09-25-at-2-26-38-pmf extra time to get into the city and find parking.  It can be a real nightmare this time of year, especially on the weekends.  We hate when clients lose time on their appointment because they are running late due to traffic problems, so be sure to plan in advance for the delay, especially the closer we get to Halloween weekend. If you are visiting the Witch CIty this season and will only be here for a few days, we definitely recommend you call or contact us through the website to prebook your tattoo appointmentscreen-shot-2016-09-25-at-2-28-24-pmt, even for something really small, because we book up quickly on the weekends especially, and if you want to come in for a walk-in, come in early in the day to grab a spot.  We also have a lot more availability for walk-ins during weekdays. Please don't hesitate to call the studio at 978-744-9393 if you have any questions about getting tattooed at Witch City Ink!

New Work by Molly, and it’s Almost THAT Season

Salem seems like a completely different town after Halloween has passed. It's as if it begins preparing to hibernate once November 1st hits. It's so quiet without parades of visitors, costumed attractions, and mock-witch trials. Not that it's completely dead. Many businesses are still open and will continue to be throughout the winter months, so if you're planning an off-season trip, you'll still have plenty of things to do! As for Witch City Ink, we will remain open 7 days a week, doing what we do best from 12 noon to 8pm. If you've been putting off your next appointment in an attempt to avoid the Salem insanity, you're now in the clear! Yes, this even means that parking will be a lot easier. Here's a couple of things that Molly has done recently. I think that the first one should be referred to as a cheshire cat-o-lantern. Don't you agree?
You know what else comes after Halloween? The even scarier season that most of us dread? The holiday shopping months. But as usual, we've got you covered with gift certificates. You can purchase them for any amount you desire. Gift certificates/cards can seem impersonal, but not when it comes to tattoos. There aren't very many gifts that will last a lifetime, but ink is certainly one of them! If you're an out-of-towner, you can even purchase a gift certificate over the phone, and we'll ship it out to you on the same day (Sundays and holidays excluded, of course). And for anyone who missed out on this year's Boston Tattoo Convention, we still have plenty of tees in stock. Come on by or give us a call if you have any questions about adding these things to your shopping list!

October: The Time for All Things Spooky

Many people associate October with Halloween, general spookiness, and the official start of autumn. Being in Salem, we get a good dose of spooky year round, but somehow as soon as the calendar folds over to October 1st, the number of witch hats, weird masks, and pumpkin goodies vastly increases. And we also do a fair amount of Halloween-related tattoos year round, but it's no secret that this number also increases during this chilly month. We are always more than happy to give a Salem visitor a permanent souvenir from their trip! In fact, many visitors book their October appointments with us in advance, to make sure that they get some time with one of our artists that they've been admiring from afar. We do still have spots open, but they're filling up fast! If you're a traveler or a local that wants to get some work done this month, be sure to give us a call soon! 978.744.9393 Of course, we're not going to make this a text-only post -- your eyes deserve more than that! In honor of our favorite month of ghouls, here are some amazingly creepy tattoos from years past by our artists. I bet you can guess who this one's from. Bold backpiece? Black and grey? Fantastically shiver-inducing? Definitely Natan's work. Steve created this death dealer piece. You would not want this guy and his horse coming after you. The flowers don't make this skull piece by PJ any less tough. Jack-o-lanterns are a popular choice when it comes to Salem tattoo souvenirs. Not as popular as witches, of course. Molly executed this one so wonderfully, that two future clients from North Carolina scheduled time with her for their visit this year. Molly also did this next tattoo, which we wouldn't call SPOOKY, but it's still darn good and reminds us of fall in Salem. We've also done more than one Halloween sleeve. This is a great example, thanks to Natan. The piece flows with that arm perfectly. Well there's your pre-Halloween teaser. We'll definitely be sharing more with you as the month rolls on!
