Around here, the winter months are always a key time for all of us to polish up on our painting game. Along with the rest of the crew, Natan has been fine tuning a lot of the paintings from his body of work and framing them up for gallery shows and the shop. Check out this large acrylic painting of Dainichi Nyorai Buddha which is characterized by Natan's painterly emphasis on vivid, bright colors seated within a solid foundation of linework and drawing.
Natan is always more than happy to work with clients on translating techniques found within his paintings into custom tattoos and is currently booking consults for a couple of weeks out.

Just this past weekend, Natan found some time between tattooing to finish up this piece that had been in progress for awhile (you may remember a rough copy of the design from the 2008 Boston Tattoo Convention t-shirts). This watercolor features some of Natan's signature stylistic moves such as an emphasis on bright vivid color work, a focus on line density, and an organic, intertwining flow and movement. Natan has a bunch of large painting projects he's been working away on so make sure to keep watching the site as we update with more of his work!
Natan recently got the chance to design and tattoo this black and grey spade of skulls piece on a repeat client of his. Given a brief description and a loose sketch of his client's general idea, Natan hit the ground running and came up with the following tattoo:
Skull-Spade
Natan was happy for the chance to do some more custom work on one of his collectors and friends, Chris Tango. Chris has been coming to get tattooed by Natan at Witch City Ink and Lightwave Tattoos for a couple of years now and has a numbe
r of Natan pieces decorating his arms. Since he already has a number of realistic black and grey skeletal type pieces, Chris opted for the more graphic and bold design of this tattoo and was thrilled with the result.

Here at Witch City, we're always fans of a good black and grey skull tattoo, so make sure to give us a ring or come on down to the shop if you have any interesting ideas for a skeletal themed piece or any other fun custom work!

For the month of January, all of the artists here from Witch City Ink are featured in a group art gallery show at Front Street Cafe here in Salem!
Throughout the winter months, we have all been tirelessly working away at a number of pieces ranging in medium from oil paintings on hand carved wood to watercolors on paper to work with glass and photography. We are now proud to present the second in a series of shows we will be maintaining at our favorite local coffee house, Front Street Cafe, right in the heart of town
Everyone here at the shop relishes the opportunity to work on any project involving skulls. Call us predictable (seeing as how we are in the middle of Salem), but nothing beats a good skull tattoo! However, Molly recently discovered that the only thing cooler than skeleton tattoos are black and grey, conjoined-twin, fetal skeleton tattoos! Check out her work below and make sure to give us a ring if you have any creative ta
Although Natan is often knee-deep in back-pieces and sleeves, you can sometimes catch him at work on small pieces, or in this case, MICRO pieces! Check out this tiny realistic turtle that Natan tattooed on a woman's foot a little while back. Even if you're not yet ready for a massive, multiple-sitting tattoo, make sure to book out your time with Natan if you have an

Natan has been working away on a whole new crop of work lately. Check out the following pieces he has recently finished up:
Cock fight backpiece
Big and bold, this backpiece on the friendly Will Means speaks for itself; an old fashioned cock fight! All black and grey with an attention to line density, repeating patterns and varying textures, this piece was just finished up the other week.
Tribal Battle Axe
Steve Johnson soldiered through this large tribal battle axe piece on his ribs in one long sitting from Natan. Check out the soft black 'n grey shading lending a bit of a sculptural and three dimensional shape to the organic patterns.
In addition to all of the projects Natan has been finishing up lately, he also has a number of multiple-session, larger pieces in the works. Check out some of his progress shots from a handful of his repeat customers below:
At 85 years old, Colorful Bill is still chipping away at a full-body suit. Sporting a whole lot of work from Natan, Bill has become quite a regular at the shop, swinging by every week or so to hang out, chat, and usually book up some more time. Here's a peek at the latest work he's gotten.
Tribal with skull
A returning client with large sections of bold tribal work from Natan, John stopped by the other day to add in some more stuff. You can never go wrong with skulls, ever.
Koi half-sleeve
In progress for only the last month or so, this koi half-sleeve is steadily approaching completion. Utilizing fundamentals of traditional Japanese designs for the foundation of this tattoo, Natan has been having a blast exploring different avenues of color theory and design to customize this piece.
Natan is currently booking out for any medium to large, creative, custom pieces, so give us a call at 978 744 9393 or stop on by the shop and we'll get you a spot on the schedule today!
